The United Nations Security Council is one of the most powerful and esteemed international bodies. This council, made up of the French Republic, the People’s Republic of China, the Russian Federation, the United Kingdom, the United States, and ten other members that rotate through two year terms, considers the most pressing and sensitive issues in international politics and is endowed with the power to enact more forceful resolutions as a part of their charge to “maintain international peace and security.” This simulation of the UNSC will be open agenda, meaning that when the delegates arrive, they will discuss and vote upon the most pressing issue the council should discuss over the course of the weekend.
